  The reason for two stars vs one was our waitress(one of the owners) - she was very committed to representing her new restaurant well, and took drink, appetizer and meal orders for our family of four without writing a thing down. We were so impressed with her and the humble decor of the small one-room dining area that our expectation was our meal would be fabulous. But . . . it didn't come close -- it was so disappointing. One of my daughters had Lemon Chicken with seasoned rice, and the chicken came as a thigh and drumstick, and the rice seemed old and dried out - and neither had a pleasing flavor. My other daughter had the Cobb Salad, which wasn't too bad -- but she wasn't able to eat the chicken because she said it was under-cooked and "slimy". My wife's Hamburger was fine. I ordered the evening's Sirloin Steak, as medium/medium-well -- it was way past well done and was the smallest steak I've ever been served at a restaurant (maybe a 5 oz. serving uncooked). It was an odd shape and had an odd taste unlike any sirloin I've had (it was $26). The greens that were served with it were it were exceptionally good. Out total bill was about $112. I went to give our waitress my Visa card and she surprisingly explained they only take cash. It was about 9:50 p.m. and I ended up going a couple blocks down to a credit union (Redwood Credit Union) and had to pay $5.00 in ATM fees to get the cash needed to pay the bill. The service was great -- the food . . . far from it.
